DUTO panelista en conferencias internacionales de emprendimiento y juventud

DUTO Ingeniería con función social acaba de participar en dos importantes eventos internacionales de emprendimiento y juventud.

DUTO Invitado por el banco mundial al Y2Y Global Youth Conference 2009

DUTO participó en el panel de empleo en la Conferencia Mundial de la Juventud Y2Y en Washington D.C. El pasado jueves 22 de octubre de 2009.

La Conferencia Mundial de la Juventud Y2Y es un evento que se organiza anualmente en la sede del Banco Mundial en Washington D.C. como parte de la celebración de la semana de las Naciones Unidas y conmemoración del día en que la carta de Naciones Unidas entró en vigor (24 de octubre de 1945), en años anteriores, la conferencia ha atraído a un público de más de 300 personas de todo el mundo. El evento es organizado por la comunidad de funcionarios jóvenes del Banco Mundial para los jóvenes del mundo y busca incorporar aspectos que permitan el compromiso de los jóvenes a través de un proceso participativo. Este año el tema central del evento fue el liderazgo de los jóvenes en una época de crisis.

DUTO fue invitado a participar del panel de empleo, gracias a la postulación de Young Americas Business Trust YABT de la OEA. El panel contó con la participación de Silvia Uranga, presidenta de la Fundación PESCAR de Argentina, Yiri Ostrovsky, cofundador de ClickDiagnostics y Fiona Macaulay, presidenta de Making Cents Internacional.

Los jóvenes son los trabajadores del mañana, los dirigentes y empresarios. Sin embargo, en todo el mundo, que lucha con una multitud de problemas – las drogas, la delincuencia, la violencia, el desempleo, el abuso, el analfabetismo y los desastres naturales para nombrar unos pocos. Estos jóvenes son toda una generación – el futuro. Y el tiempo para construir ese futuro es ahora.

De igual manera DUTO fue invitado a hacer parte del panel Young Entrepreneurs Highlight What Makes a Difference (Emprendedores Juveniles resaltando qué puede hacer la diferencia) en la Global Youth Enterprise Conference 2009 (Conferencia Global de Emprendimiento Juvenil) evento que se realizó los días 2 y 3 de Octubre de 2009 en Washington DC.

En este panel DUTO pudo compartir su experiencia de emprendimiento que le ha permitido convertir en una realidad el sueño de igualdad que representa IRIS, los sistemas que le permiten a los niños en situación de discapacidad visual ver con sus manos los materiales pedagógicos que se brindan en el aula de clase tradicional.

El panel fue dirigido por Isabel M. Alvarez-Rodríguez la directora de programas del organismo BID Juventud del Banco Interamericano de Desarollo. En este panel también participaron Gary Barois (Haiti) “TOP APEL”, Carlos Arturo Camacho Vivar (Mexico) “Bamboorganic: Productos Biodegradables”, Chante Goodwin (U.S.) “Your Way IT Solutions”, y Mr. Najib Tayara (Syria) “Background Information on Tayara Internetworks Systems”.

El panel tuvo como conclusión el importante papel que cumple la juventud en el desarrollo de los países, y sirvió para resaltar también la importancia de brindar mecanismos de apoyo para los emprendedores que les permitan alcanzar sus sueños.

DUTO Invited by the World Bank to Y2Y Global Youth Conference 2009
DUTO participated in the employment panel in the World Youth Conference in Washington DC Y2Y Last Thursday, 22 October 2009.

The World Youth Conference Y2Y is an event that is organized annually by the World Bank headquarters in Washington DC as part of the celebration of the week United Nations commemoration of the day the United Nations charter took effect (October 24, 1945), in previous years the conference has attracted an audience of over 300 people worldwide. The event is organized by the community of young staff of the World Bank for the youth of the world and seeks to incorporate aspects that allow the commitment of young people through a participatory process. This year the theme of the event was the youth leadership in a time of crisis.

DUTO was invited to participate in the employment panel, thanks to the nomination of Young Americas Business Trust YABT OAS. The panel was integrated also by Silvia Uranga, President of the Argentinan foundation PESCAR, Yiri Ostrovsky co-founder of ClickDiagnostics and Fiona Macaulay, President of Making Cents International.

Young people are tomorrow’s workers, leaders and entrepreneurs. However, worldwide, struggling with a multitude of problems – drugs, crime, violence, unemployment, abuse, illiteracy and natural disasters to name a few. These youth are a generation of the future. And time to build that future is now.

Similarly DUTO was invited to be part of the Young Entrepreneurs panel Highlight What Makes a Difference in the Global Youth Enterprise Conference 2009 event held on 2 and October 3, 2009 in Washington DC.

In this panel DUTO could share their experience of entrepreneurship that has allowed it to turn into reality the dream of equality that is IRIS, the system that allow blind children to see with their hands the visual pedagogical materials given in the traditional classroom.

The panel was led by Isabel M. Alvarez-Rodriguez the director of agency programs IDB Youth Inter-American Development Bank. This panel also included Gary Barois (Haiti) “TOP APEL”, Carlos Arturo Camacho Vivar (Mexico) “Bamboorganic: Biodegradable Products”, Chante Goodwin (U.S.) “IT Solutions Your Way,” and Mr. Najib Tayara (Syria) ” Background Information on Tayara Internetworks Systems “.

The panel helped to remark the important role of youth in developing countries, and also served to highlight the importance of providing support mechanisms for entrepreneurs to enable them to achieve their dreams.
