DUTO recibe el premio TIC Americas: Emprendimiento Joven Super Estrella|DUTO gets the TIC Americas Young Entrepreneur Superstar Award

Un nuevo hecho histórico en la joven vida de la empresa DUTO acaba de ocurrir en el recién finalizado Foro del Sector Privado de las Américas, en el marco de la Asamblea General de la Organización de Estados Americanos OEA. Y es que el mismo Secretario General de la Organización, Excelentísimo José Miguel Insulza, en representación del Young Americas Business Trust entregó el premio “TIC Americas 2008: Emprendimiento Joven Super Estrella” a la empresa creadora del reconocido sistema IRIS que le permite a los niños en situación de discapacidad visual acceder a una educación equitativa al poder ver con sus manos los colores y formas de las imágenes pedagógicas que se brindan en un aula de clase tradicional.Entrega del Premio.

Este selecto premio es un alto reconocimiento que hace el Young Americas Business Trust (YABT), a los emprendedores que por su trabajo duro, constancia, perseverancia y visión han llevado sus emprendimientos y/o proyectos a convertirse en ejemplo para todas las iniciativas empresariales de los estados miembros. DUTO se hizo merecedor a este reconocimiento gracias al avance que ha tenido en su proyecto desde que fue premiado en el TIC Americas 2007 con el Premio al Emprendimiento Social, con un plan de negocios que ha avanzado hasta convertirse hoy en día en una empresa Parquesoft, legalmente constituida, que está a puertas de realizar la prueba piloto de su sistema IRIS que ha sido además reconocido Nacional e Internacionalmente.

DUTO Emprendimiento SuperestrellaEl premio fue entregado el pasado Jueves 29 de Mayo en el Hotel Intercontinental de Medellín, en presencia de diferentes representantes de los sectores público y privado asistentes al foro, al igual que los finalistas de la competencia TIC Americas 2008 y otras distinguidas personalidades de las Americas. Allí el Secretario General realizó un sentido discurso introductorio a la empresa que luego realizó su agradecimiento a la organización instando a los emprendedores a que continúen con sus esfuerzos y a los demás empresarios y representantes del sector público a que los apoyen para así en equipo se pueda mejorar la realidad de las Américas (El discurso se puede encontrar en  http://www.duto.org/Nosotros/discurso-entrepreneurship-superstar-Award.pdf/view).

Una muestra de este trabajo colaborativo es el anuncio que allí mismo realizó el Señor Rodrigo Arboleda Director de Desarrollo para Latino América y el Caribe del proyecto, “One Laptop Per Child”, quien se comprometió a apoyar la prueba piloto del sistema IRIS donando 10 de estos famosos computadores al proyecto. A new historic event in the short life of the company  DUTO had just take place in the just ended Private Sector of the Americas Forum framed in the Organization of American States (OAS) Annual Conference. There the excellence General Secretary José Miguel Insulza, in representation of the Young Americas Business Trust gave the TIC Americas 2008: Young Entrepreneur Superstar Award to the company that created the recognized IRIS system. This system enables a visually impaired child to be in equality in his educational process, by being able to see the colors and shapes of the different pedagogical material commonly used in a traditional classroom.

This selected award in a high recognition that the Young Americas Business Trust (YABT)  makes to the entrepreneurs that with his hard work, constance and vision had taken their entrepreneurships and project to become in an example to all the different entrepreneurial initiatives in the member states of the OAS. DUTO gets this award thanks to the goals achieved in its project, since its recognition as with the Social Entrepreneurship Award in the TIC Americas 2007. From there DUTO has taken its business plan and transformed it in a legally stated company in Parquesoft Pereira, that its ready to start the pilot test of the IRIS system, and that have been nationally and internationally recognized.

The award ceremony take place on May 29th in the “Hotel Intercontinental” in Medellín Colombia, with the presence of the different representations of the public and private sectors that assists to the Forum, and with the presence of the finalists of the TIC Americas 2008 Competition and other different personalities of the Americas. There the General Secretary made a meaningful introductory speech to the company that afterwards thanked with an invitation to all the entrepreneurs to continue with their efforts, and to the representatives of the different companies and government that assists to the event, to support all those entrepreneurial project and by this help to change the reality of the Americas (The speech can be found in

A very good example of this collaborative work in the announcement that in that place makes Mr. Rodrigo Arbloleda Director of Development for Latin America & the Caribbean of the Project One Laptop Per Child, that offer to give 10 of the famous OLPCs for the pilot test of the IRIS System.
